 David Buffonge, Director, BenoyDavid graduated with 1st Class Honours from the Caribbean School of Architecture in 1994. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma and a Masters in Urban Design specialising in Resort Town Planning at Oxford Brookes University in 1997. After joining Benoy in 1997, David focused on concept planning and design for retail and mixed use projects in the UK, Middle East and Asia. David played a key role in setting up Benoy’s Hong Kong office and currently heads retail design for a portfolio of projects. |
 David Wong, Chief Economist, Shui On LandDavid Wong is Shui On Land’s Chief Economist, with over 18 years of experience in the PRC property markets and expertise in strategic planning, economic mega trend studies, financial analysis and real estate market research. He possesses a wealth of experience in city competitiveness and project feasibility studies for many China’s Tier 1, 2 & 3 cities including Chengdu, Chongqing, Dalian, Foshan, Fuzhou, Hangzhou, Kunming, Lijiang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuhan, Xi’an, and Xiamen. Mr. Wong holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a member of McKinsey China Council of Business Economists. |
 Ian Milne, Design Principal, Asia, RMJMIan Milne has over 20 years experience and joined RMJM in 2006 as Design Director and since then promoted to Principal.Ian has over two decades of design experience working on a wide range of projects including large scale commercial, civic, residential and transportation projects as well as masterplans. A member of RIBA, Ian holds a BA (Hons) in Architecture from Oxford Brookes University and completed RIBA (Part III) at London South Bank University. He also holds a BTEC in Civil Engineering from Gloucester College of Arts & Technology in the UK. |
 Jules Kwan, Managing Director, Space DevelopmentBorn in Sydney Australia, Jules studied real estate development and worked on the sydney olympic stadium for multiplex before moving to china in 1999. Graduating from Beijing Language and Cultural University a year later with a degree in Mandarin, Jules moved to Shanghai and co-founded international multi-award winning media company, mailman ltd. In 2005, Jules moved back into real estate development by co-founding Space Development, a niche boutique development company based in Shanghai, with over 20 projects successfully completed ranging from residential, office, serviced apartment and hotels. Jules is a regular speaker at investment and development conferences with over 11 years of experience developing in China. |

 Michael Wiener, Principal & Director-Singapore, GenslerWith over 15 years at Gensler, stints in the San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Shanghai offices, and significant experience delivering global projects for knowledge-based clients, Michael Wiener was well-suited to establish Gensler’s first permanent presence in Southeast Asia. Now based in Singapore, Michael works extensively with Gensler’s international network supporting projects from India to New Zealand to Hong Kong. Much of his work focuses on the strategic structure of projects and delivery processes. A keen observer of behavior and patterns, Michael delves into the workings of an organization and helps users envision more effective ways of achieving their goals. |
 Paul Collins, Vice President, Director of Architecture, HOKPaul has over 20 years of professional experience in design architecture. Spending most of his years practicing in Asia, Paul has a wonderful portfolio of projects covering over 30 cities and many different types of facilities including Grade A office developments, mixed-use landmarks, five-star hotels, resorts, prestigious housing projects, corporate campuses, convention centers, multi-purpose event arenas, airports and master plans. His recent completed projects in HOK include Times Square in Suzhou which contains the world’s largest LED sky canopy, Vrindavan Tech Village which is a LEED Platinum pre-certified project in Bangalore, Plaza Indonesia Extension situating at one of the busiest avenues at central Jakarta, the 603-room Hyatt on the Bund located at Shanghai’s historical Bund, and the new Motorola campus in Beijing. |
 Paul Katz, President, Kohn Peterson Fox Paul Katz is President of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, where he has been responsible for some of the firm’s most complex and ambitious building projects around the world. With more than 25 years of experience in architecture, he has overseen the design and development of new commercial, residential, supertall and mixed-use projects in major urban centres from New York and London to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore. Paul’s architectural studies began in his native Capetown, South Africa, and he has degrees in architecture from both the Israel Institute of Technology and Princeton University. A registered architect in the state of New York, he is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA). |
 Robbert Van Nouhuys, Director, ACLARobbert is an Urban Designer / Landscape Architect by training with more than 25 years experience in planning and design of Recreation, Tourism and Residential / Commercial Development projects in Asia and the Middle East. Robbert is currently Director for ACLA and East Asia Managing Director – Property Services for Hyder. He also holds a seat on Hyder’s Professional Board, representing the Property Sector. Robbert currently presides over selected strategic projects throughout the Asia region. As Project Director he has managed and co-ordinated large teams and successfully delivered international award winning, highly complex projects for private sector clients, local authorities and national governments. |
 Roger Frechette, President, PositivEnergy PracticeRoger Frechette is a licensed mechanical engineer and LEED-accredited professional with more than two decades of experience in sustainable engineering and building design. Roger led the engineering teams for Burj Khalifa (formerly known as Burj Dubai), the world’s tallest building, and Pearl River Tower, a high-performance office building now under construction in Guangzhou, China. Roger’s body of work also includes projects ranging from government buildings and museums to laboratories, airports, hospitals, academic buildings and corporate offices. Roger is a Senior Fellow with the Design Futures Council, a global network of design community professionals, and a frequent lecturer on high-performance design and green engineering. In 2004, Roger was recognized by the United States Congress for his work in sustainability. |
 Silas Chiow, Director, SOM ChinaAs Director of SOM China, Silas Chiow is responsible for spearheading SOM’s business strategies in Greater China and facilitating its architecture and planning projects throughout the mainland. Over the last 21 years, Silas’ expertise as an architect has encompassed urban planning and project management to all project types—including: mixed-use developments, offices, hotels, retail, residential, convention centers and institutions. |
 Stefan Krummeck, Principal Director, TFP FarrellsStefan Krummeck, international architect and urban designer, is responsible for directing the design and coordination of key projects in the Hong Kong office. With over 20 years experience in Europe and Asia, Stefan has an in-depth knowledge of the design, planning and integration of large complex, commercial and transportation projects through all stages of procurement. He has led the architectural design on a multitude of commercial and transportation related projects in Asia including a number of award-winning projects and developments: Beijing South Station (winner of the 2009 RIBA International Award, AIA HK Architecture Merit Award and voted First in the Beijing Top Ten Contemporary Architecture), Kowloon Station (winner of the 2001 Best International Interchange Award) and Incheon Airport Ground Transportation Centre (The World’s Best Airport Award 2009, Skytrax’s World Airport Award). |
The Architecture & Design Conference attracts multinational and world class architects and designers, as well as developers and business leaders.
